Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

This policy explains how Clear View Windows & Exterior Cleaning handles personal information when you enquire about a quote, request a booking or use our window cleaning and exterior cleaning services.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

Conner Bickley, trading as Clear View Windows & Exterior Cleaning (Sole Trader), of 2 Johnson Avenue, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 9AG, is responsible for deciding how the customer information described in this policy is used (the “data controller”).

For privacy enquiries or requests about your information, contact us at:

2. What information we collect

  • Your name, telephone number and email address, where supplied.
  • Your property address and postcode so we can check coverage, quote for work and visit the correct property.
  • Your quote request or booking details, including the service, property size, cleaning frequency, preferred days and times, and any notes or access information you choose to provide.
  • Customer records associated with bookings, including booking status, confirmed dates and confirmation-email status.
  • Information you give us during enquiries and follow-up correspondence.

Email addresses may be optional when you enquire by telephone or another channel. The current website booking form requires a name, telephone number, email address, property address and postcode; email is used to send the booking acknowledgement. Please avoid including sensitive personal information or unnecessary details about other people in your notes.

The postcode checker compares the district you enter with our coverage list in your browser. It does not make a separate postcode-lookup request; your postcode is included in your booking when you submit the form.

3. Where information comes from

We collect information directly from you through website bookings, enquiries, telephone contact and any messages you send to our business Facebook page.

Facebook lead forms: we run lead forms on Facebook. When you submit one, the contact details and answers you choose to provide are made available to us so we can respond to your enquiry or quote request, and are then handled as described in this policy. Facebook also handles information under Meta’s own privacy policy.

4. Why we use information and our lawful bases

  • Enquiries, quotes and bookings: to respond to you, assess the work, confirm prices and arrange services. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, or performing our contract with you.
  • Service communications: to acknowledge a booking and contact you about dates, access, changes or the work requested. The lawful basis is taking steps towards, or performing, our contract with you.
  • Customer administration and resolving issues: to manage service records, deal with queries or complaints and protect our business in a dispute. The lawful basis is our legitimate interests in running and protecting the business, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal requirements: where records are needed to meet a specific legal obligation, such as applicable accounting requirements, the lawful basis is legal obligation. This is not a claim that every enquiry must be retained for tax purposes.
  • Optional advertising and analytics storage: your consent, as selected through the cookie banner, is used for optional storage and related tracking permissions.

A quote request or booking is not consent to receive marketing. The current booking form does not include a marketing opt-in or automatically subscribe you to a mailing list. Service-related messages are separate from promotional messages.

Owner to complete: confirm any marketing you carry out outside this website, and its consent or other applicable lawful arrangements, before adding it to this policy.

5. Who information is shared with

The verified website arrangements are:

  • Lovable Cloud: the website’s booking database stores the details submitted in the form.
  • Lovable’s managed email service: receives the information needed to send booking acknowledgements to customers and new-booking notifications to the business email address. Notifications include contact and booking details, property address and any notes supplied.
  • The business email service: booking notifications are sent to our Gmail address, so the information in those emails is also handled by that email service.
  • Google: the configured Google Ads tag receives website measurement events. The staff booking page also offers an external Google Maps link containing a customer’s property address when opened for directions.
  • Facebook/Meta: handles information when you use Facebook to contact us or submit a lead form, where applicable; following a Facebook link takes you to that service.

The business is run by one person. No staff, subcontractors, accountants or other advisers currently receive customer information. Any disclosure required by law would be limited to what the requirement calls for.

6. Cookies and website tracking

The website uses a Google Ads tag to measure page visits and actions such as clicking a telephone link, starting a booking and submitting a booking request. The booking-confirmed page also sends a booking-confirmed event. The event code does not deliberately include your name, phone number, email address or property address in these events.

The cookie banner lets you accept or decline. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under cv_cookie_consent. Advertising storage, advertising user-data, advertising personalisation and analytics storage permissions default to denied unless a saved choice grants them, and are updated when you choose. Declining does not prevent you from requesting a booking.

The Google tag is loaded even when storage permissions are denied. Denied storage is therefore not a promise that no request is sent to Google; Google Consent Mode can send cookieless measurement signals. The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which involves requests from your browser to Google. Staff sign-in uses browser storage for session management; customers do not need to sign in to book.

To be asked again about your cookie choice, remove this website’s saved site data using your browser settings and revisit the site. You can also manage cookies through your browser. Clearing site data may sign you out if you use a staff account.

Owner to complete: confirm the cookies actually set by Google for your advertising configuration and their lifetimes. No unverified cookie list or expiry period is stated here.

7. How long information is kept

  • Customer records for regular customers: kept while you remain one of our customers, so we can manage your cleaning schedule and contact you about visits.
  • One-off cleans and general enquiries: enquiry emails and related records are cleared after 6–12 months.
  • Records may be kept longer where needed to meet a specific legal requirement, such as applicable accounting requirements.

8. How information is protected

The website validates booking submissions and has a staff sign-in and role-restricted booking management area. These are access controls, not a guarantee that information can never be lost, accessed without permission or otherwise compromised.

The business is run by one person, who is the only person with access to booking records, customer information and the business email account. These are access controls, not a guarantee that information can never be lost, accessed without permission or otherwise compromised.

9. Storage locations and international transfers

The website uses the providers described above. Their involvement alone does not verify where all customer information is stored or accessed, or what international-transfer safeguards apply. We do not claim that all information remains in the UK.

Owner to complete: check the actual hosting and email arrangements, provider terms and data-processing agreements; identify any access or transfers outside the UK, the applicable safeguards, and how customers can obtain information about those safeguards.

10. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Ask for access to your personal information and a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Ask us to erase information or restrict how it is used.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, and object to direct marketing at any time.
  • Receive certain information in a portable format where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Contact us using the details in section 1. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; lawful extensions or exceptions may apply, and we will explain these where relevant. A request does not always require deletion of information that must be kept for a valid legal reason.

The postcode checker uses a fixed coverage list to give an indication of our usual service area. It does not prevent you from contacting us to discuss a quote outside that area.

11. Complaints

Please contact us if you have concerns about how your information is handled. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator; you do not have to complain to us first.

Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ for current complaint options and contact details.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy is reviewed when our information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the most recent update.
